The Mark Center Post Office
Mark Township was created in 1850. Early on, the township was intended to be named Kenton in honor of Mark Kent, who made the first improvements in the area after settling in Section 6 as a hunter and trapper. That name was ultimately rejected because a post office already carried the name Kenton, and the name Mark was agreed upon instead.
